Your Only Representative for exporting to the European Union
The new EU Chemicals Regulation REACH has a major impact for exporters of chemical substances to the European Union (EU). On 30 November 2008, all chemicals used or produced must be pre-registered, either by your EU clients or by a legal entity of your company in the EU. If not, the EU may close its market to your products. The most secure way to avoid this is to appoint or create this legal entity, termed an ‘Only Representative’ (OR). In this way you are able to provide service to your customers and to keep in control of your own (confidential) substance and market data. If you do not have a permanent presence in the EU this can be difficult to arrange. The REACH Shared Service Desk is set up especially to operate as your ready-made, fully equipped OR under your control. Op 30 november 2008 moeten alle chemicaliën die gebruikt of geproduceerd worden vooraf geregistreerd zijn. Dit moet uw EU-klant doen of een legale vertegenwoordiging van uw bedrijf in de EU. Anders zou de EU de markt voor uw producten kunnen sluiten. De veiligste oplossing om dit te voorkomen is het aanstellen van een zogenoemde ‘Only Representative’ (OR).
