What we do "I work in our PFS practice, Personal Financial Services, in the individual income tax group. I work on individual tax returns and planning for high net worth individuals."
Coolest project "I dealt with a former state governor. He actually came to the office and I got to meet with him -- it was about an hour. He was nice. We talked for a little while, mostly about his business, his income and his expenses."
Crunch times "During the busy seasons we work a lot of hours. We have two busy seasons -- the April 15th busy season starts in the beginning to middle of March. And the other busy season is October 15th - -that starts end of September."
Wise guidance "My managers act as mentors. One manager in particular has looked out for me, has tried to ensure that I am happy with what I am doing, and that I am getting the work that I want."
Getting answers "Any question I have about things that I am unsure about or want to learn more about is answered -- I am always able to get help from a manager."
Keeping it flexible "I like to exercise and I try to keep it in my schedule. I am able to fit in my workout as long as I get my work done."
A career in accounting "I decided that I wanted to do accounting in high school based on a class that I took. It was accounting, just beginner level. In college I took an individual income tax class and I liked that the best of all the tax classes. I like individual because I can relate to the clients better."
