At PwC, we understand Corporate Responsibility as the way we integrate social, environmental and economic concerns into our values, culture, decision making and operations in an accountable and transparent manner and thereby establish better practices within the firm, create wealth and improve society.
We approach corporate responsibility from four perspectives which we call the four quadrants* - Community, Environment, People and Marketplace. By considering the wider impacts of our decisions in these four quadrants, we are better able to develop a comprehensive strategy that embeds corporate responsibility into all our planning and processes.
We have developed a corporate responsibility strategy which sets out our strategic imperatives, actions to be taken and how these will be measured.
PwC’s Corporate Responsibility Advisory Council oversees how we manage social and environmental issues in our business. The CR Advisory Council is chaired by our CEO and is charged with monitoring progress against all CR targets.
* The four quadrants are based on the BiTC (UK) model of “What makes a company count?”
