Community

All our activities, both as a business and as individuals, impact the communities in which we live and work. It is our responsibility to ensure that this impact is positive and sustainable.

We cannot effect change alone, but we can help define and shape the future, particularly through our partnerships with the not-for-profit sector. We undertake our community activities through the PwC Foundation. Over the past six years, our Foundation has evolved to better tackle these challenges and our focus on social responsibility has taken on new dimensions. No longer satisfied with one-off philanthropic gestures, our people are investing increasing amounts of time, money, energy and skills in long-term community projects. This allows them to better understand the issues we face, and to develop as responsible leaders. They have responded strongly to this approach, with 92 per cent of our people happy with the actions PwC is taking to be socially responsible.

Our strategy is to focus on innovative initiatives that impact the not-for-profit sector more broadly such as the PwC Transparency Awards which are designed to encourage improvement of the quality and transparency of reporting in the not-for-profit sector. We are also undertaking a survey across the corporate sector to better understand the corporate workplace giving landscape in Australia.
