Public Private Partnerships

Public Private Partnership (PPP) is not a new concept in New Zealand. There are a small number of PPP projects that have been successfully implemented, for example in the wastewater and water sectors. But the reality is that we have been lagging behind other countries in implementing PPP. If New Zealanders want to maintain and enhance the level of service they receive from core infrastructure, the public sector needs to look at innovative ways of funding and delivering these services including, in particular, PPP.

PricewaterhouseCoopers brings experience and expertise to public sector clients who are considering PPP options:

  • We have worked for Governments, both central and local, all over the world, including New Zealand. We understand their objectives and constraints
  • We have advised bidders, and understand the private sector’s motivations and practices
  • We know the debt markets and financiers’ concerns
  • We are respected by bidders the world over - a PPP project presented by PwC is instantly credible
  • We have closed more projects – for public or private sector clients – than any other adviser, and have been drivers of value for money on each project
  • We have prepared more public sector comparators than any other adviser and we have a well constructed methodology and reputation.
Above all, our expertise and excellence ensures that our clients maximise value and minimise risk in the implementation of PPP projects.
